Biography

Frederick was born about 1816 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He was the son of Daniel Benson and Elizabeth Unknown. He passed away about 1842 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.

Frederick married Elizabeth Unknown about 1830 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. A marriage record has yet to be found. They had children:

  1. Unknown daughter Benson, c 1830
  2. Unknown daughter Benson, c 1835
  3. Mary Elizabeth Benson, c 1839
  4. John B Benson, c 1841[1]

In 1840 three daughters were listed in Frederick's household on the census in Lincoln County, Tennessee. The oldest was born between 1826 & 1830.[2]

  • Males age 20-29 - 1 [Frederick]
  • Females under age 5 - 1 [Mary Elizabeth]
  • Females age 5-9 - 1
  • Females age 10-14 - 1
  • Females age 20-29 - 1 [Elizabeth]
  • Females age 50-59 - 1 [mother-in-law?]

Frederick has not been found in records after the 1840 census. In 1850 his widow Elizabeth Benson and children Mary Elizabeth and John B Benson are living with Frederick's mother in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
