Biography
Charles was born in 1906 in New York. He was a chiropractor in Los Angeles.
He married the silent screen actress Violet La Plante 7 September 1934 in Los Angeles. [1]They were the parents of one child, a son, Roger Sorrell Benson (1934-2016). Charles and Violet were divorced in 1939.
Star's Sister Divorced[2] Los Angeles, Jan. 12 (AP)--Mrs. Violet Benson, sister of former film star, Laura La Plante, divorced Charles S. Benson, chiropractor, and won $75 monthly for support of herself and their 3-year-old son.
Charles died 4 March 1983 in Los Angeles.[3]
