Biography
According to her gravestone at the Benson Burial Ground in Plymouth County. Massachusetts (probably in either Carver or Wareham), Polley Benson was the daughter of Ichabod Benson and Abigail (Griffeth) Benson and died on 12 Aug 1795 at the age of 16 years, 22 days.[1] A cenotaph at the Lakeside Cemetery in Livermore, Maine, gives her age at her death as 16 years, 1 month.[2] The 1912 history of Peru, Maine, says she was born on 12 Jul 1779.[3]
