He attended Eton and then King's college, Cambridge from 1881. He later returned to Cambridge, becoming a fellow of Magdalen college (1904 - 15) and then master (1915 - 25). [3]
He died 17 Jun 1925 at the Master's Lodge at Magdalene and was buried at St Giles's Cemetery in Cambridge. [4][5]
