David is the son of Lorenz and Gottleiben Bensonhaver.[1] He married Elizabeth Bainter, daughter of Elias "Eli" and Elizabeth (Palmer) Bainter, on 22 May 1864 at Hocking County, Ohio.[2] Among their children are:
