Eliza Needles Bentley was born about August 25, 1843 in Sandy Spring, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, daughter of Richard Thomas Bentley (1819–1889) and Edith Dawson Needles (1817–1894).^{[1] [2] [3] [4]}
