Biography
Alberta 'Bertie' was born in 1842 in Cornwallis. She was the daughter of Asahel Bentley Jr., and Elizabeth Caroline Gesner. Bertie first married Ephraim Terry in 1863 and had a daughter Ida in 1865. After Ephraim died she married Arthur Crawley Layton and had three children - see below. She died at age 89 in Great Village Nova Scotia and is buried at Mahon Cemetery [1]
