Biography
John was born in 1814 to Daniel Webster Bentley and Eleanor Whidden. He married Elizabeth Alexander Johnson Nov. 24, 1840 at Upper Stewiacke. They had 14 children. John died at the age of 80 at Stewiacke and was buried at Riverside Cemetery.

Present were Hugh Dunlap, Middle Stewiacke, the groomsman...Samuel Johnson one of the witnesses...David Fulton a guest 50 years ago...Mrs. Bentley is a great granddaughter of Matthew Johnson - the first settler in Upper Stewiacke.
