This Samuel (of Halifax) is not the brother of my GGGgf Jeremiah b1759 and Daniel. Their brother is the Samuel Jr bc1750 (in Amelia) of Nottoway Co - the 3 sons of the Samuel Sr b1719 in Richmod Co VA. I believe that the Samuel of Halifax is the S/o John and Mary Ellis Bentley. There is yet another proved Samuel Jr, probably bc1730s, a brother of Efford, William, and John - 4 sons of the Samuel Bentley bc1710 who left the 1784 will in Amelia Co VA. Regards, George F. Bentley
