Biography
Thomas was born about 1782-1785 in NC[1] and married Margaret _____.[2] Online trees call her Margaret Crace without source.
He may be the son of Daniel Bentley and Nancy Lewis.[3]
Thomas was living in Perry Co., KY in 1840 in a household of 9 (6 males, 3 females).[4]
On the 1850 US Census he was enumerated in Letcher County, Kentucky: Thomas 65 (b. NC), Margaret 55 (b. VA) and children (b. KY) Mary 22, Esther 20, Roady 16, S. Davis 14, [William] May 12, Mary 6, James 1.[2]
On the 1860 US Census he was enumerated again in Letcher County, Kentucky: Thomas 78, Mary 28, Esther 24, May 20, Mary 15, James 11. in the same household were: Sarah Bentley 32, Minerva 8, Henry 6, Joeph 4, Jane 2.[1]
Thomas' date and place of death are unknown.
