Rita was born in 1906 in Nova Scotia. She is the daughter of Lewis Bentley and Annie Masters. She came with her parents as they moved West within Canada.
She emigrated to the US in 1924; her parents followed in 1925. In 1926, Rita was married [[Guy-3519|John A. Guy] of Oklahoma. The wedding was witnessed by John's mother Minnie and Rita's sister Alice. By 1940 they had four children: Fred, Jack, Robert and Vernan.
She died in 1987, and was predeceased by her husband. They are buried together in the Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle, King County, Washington.
