The 1860 census of 5th District, Montgomery, Maryland, United States lists Edward Bently living with Richard T and Edith Bently.
The 1870 census of Maryland lists 15 year old Edward Bentley living in the household of Richard T. and Edith Bentley.
When this profile was adopted it contained no dates, other than a birth date for a John Bentley who was wrongly listed as Edward's son. However census records show that John's father was Richard T Bentley and Edith. Those census records also show an Edward Bentley as a son to Richard T born in approximately 1854 or 1855.
The profile also use to list Caleb Bentley as Edward's father. According to the Maryland State Archives biography for Edward's father Caleb, Edward is not mentioned in his father Caleb's will.
No other sources have been found to show Caleb was Edward's father.
Allan Bentley has an Edward Needles Bentley whose father is Edward's brother, who is married to a Needles. Could this profile be that person? Children don't match. Need to find sources of children.
For the above reasons, Caleb was removed as Edward's father, Richard was removed as brother and added as father.
