John Bentley was baptised in Elstow church on November 5 1608. He married Mary Betts, in Ampthill church on 3 Oct. 1630. John and Mary had six children:

Thomas, Baptized April 10, 1636, at Ampthill, buried a t Ampthill, January 11, 1666/7;
James, Baptized May 6, 1638, at Ampthill, buried at Amp thill, January 28, 1696/7;
William, Baptized September 13, 1640, at Ampt hill.
