Biography
Hazel Anne Berger Berhalter was the daughter of William "Pap" Berger and Hattie Cameron Berger. Hazel had a brother,Everett Berger,and a sister,Mildred "Sis" Berger Keen. Hazel and her husband,Charles Berhalter owned and operated The Depot Restaurant in Bellefontaine,Ohio for many years.Serving hundreds of thousands of people,and many celebrities of the day including,Jean Harlow,Jack Oakie,Rudy Vallie,and family friends,The Mills Brothers. The Depot Restaurant was opened 24 hours a day,and if someone got I'll Hazel would have to hurry down there to relieve them since the doors didn't have locks. There were no keys,trusting souls! Those Were The Days!
