Final Rites for Mrs. J. Stavinoha Here Tuesday

Mrs. Joseph E. Stavinoha, 68, of Ganado, mother of Werner J. Stavinoha of Weimar, was buried in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery here Tuesday morning, July 11, after services at Psencik Funeral Home and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Ganado.

Rev. Wm. Halata officiated in the Ganado rites, Rev. Albert Hubertus at the graveside.

Mrs. Stavinoha died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Mauritz Memorial Jackson County Hospital in Ganado, where she had been a patient five and a half weeks.

The former Theresia Berger, she was born August 16, 1898, at Weimar, a daughter of Joseph and Theresia Kasper Berger, and was married here to Mr. Stavinoha on October 2, 1916. They lived here until 1924, and after a year at Moulton and two and half years at Edna they settled at Ganado, where Mr. Stavinoha went into the dry goods business. They have lived there since.

Mrs. Stavinoha was a member of Assumption Church, the CDA, the Parish Sewing Circle, the KJZT, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving in addition to her husband and her son are two grandchildren, Peter Kim and Ann Stavinoha of Weimar; one brother, Joe Berger of Weimar; and one sister, Mrs. Albert (Emma) Grohmann Sr. of Weimar. Two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hartensteiner and Mrs. Millie Polk, preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were George Berger, Wilbur Grohmann, John A. Hajovsky, Joe Hartensteiner, all of Weimar; Albert Farris of Ganado; and Teddy Stavinoha of Rosenberg. The Weimar Mercury, July 13, 1967
