Research Notes

  • Child Jean Pierre Bergeron listed by Family Search transcriber of a record as "Female." Not sure if this is an error in transcription of name Jean (vs. Jeanne) or if an error of determined gender; actual record should be examined for determination. See Family Search record.
    • Please note that this Family Search transcription is from a SWLR or DOBR baptismal transcription, which only rarely noted the child's sex. Nevertheless, transcribers to Family Search records often volunteered their judgment call on the name. (The same transcriber spells Louisiana "LOUISIANNA," so may not be familiar with local names and customs.) Ward-9858 13:52, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
