Biography
Charles Francis Bergin was born in Lambeth, London on March 1, 1911. He was the only child of Francis Bergin and Margaret Collins.
Charles started his life living at Hackford Road in Brixton with his parents, grandmother Emma and his uncle George. By the time he was 3 years old he was living in The Leopard pub in Finsbury, London, as his father was the landlord.
In 1926 when Charles was 15, his mother Margaret passed away.
He married Florence Bennett on June 8, 1935 at Westminster, London. They went on to have three children together.
