Hello, I am a WT Ranger and we keep an eye on the tree and try to help members. I noticed you created the following pre-1700 profile using a source that is not approved. Here is the HELP page link:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:France_Project_Reliable_Sources

Unreliable Sources A tree without sources is insufficient as a source for WikiTree profiles. Geneanet trees: Geneanet trees are user-contributed trees, many of them unsourced. A tree with precise dates and places will usually be a good guide of where to look for primary records. Please take the time to look for the source and check it for yourself. Do not cite the Geneanet tree as your only source: it is courteous to give credit (under See also); however when the tree exists in multiple copies on the net you may not be crediting the original builder. When a tree does present sources, please take the time to look up the original sources. Give credit.

Stacy, I'm trying to learn more about my Ireland roots . . . my great, great grandfather Joseph Y Boyd appear to have half brothers on your tree, however the half brother's mother's appear to be almost the same person Sarah Stuart and Sarah Stewart. Any thoughts? I'm new to WikiTree but have been active on Ancestry for a couple of years. All very exciting for me as I just recently discovered my birth family!

Hi Stacy,

You will want to switch your "french_roots" followed tag to "france". Please check this out: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/846021/french-roots-becomes-the-france-project

Hi Stacy

Looking forward to finding out a connection between your Bergot ancestors and mine, coming from the same area in Brittany. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bergot-48

Hi Stacy,

Thanks for your interest in the French Roots project. I have approved you to the French Roots discussion group. Could you please take a look at the project page and the Regions Team page, and tell me where you would like to help. You can pick one or more regions. I may also have issues with your email - I'll get back to you if it still does not work. Then I'll be able to award your badge.

Hi Stacy,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. The After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the kind of special attention those profiles now need.

You might also be interested in some of the tips and tricks that we have included in the How-Tos that we share with new members these days. They were created long after you became a member so you never received them.

If you have WikiTree questions, I am here to help. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

PS If the link does not work, you can find it in the public comment I left on your profile

On the profile of Angus Smith, I am thinking the one source I had of his parents was incorrect. I have detached him and am searching for the parents that are correct. I have sourced a little on your profiles but not too much. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for calling my attention to it.

Hi Stacy,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. Natalie ~ Pre-1700 Greeter

Thanks for joining our community, Stacy, and for helping grow our worldwide family tree.

You'll find many useful links in the drop-down boxes in the upper right hand corner.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents and sources, dates and places you add to the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know exact dates, please approximate.

There are additional tips on my profile page if you'd care to take a look. :)

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!
