Father Sir Maurice de Berkeley, 4th Lord Berkeley[1] b. c 1330, d. 3 Jun 1368

Mother Elizabeth le Despenser[2] b. c 1327, d. 13 Jul 1389

Sir Thomas 'the Magnificent' Berkeley, 5th Lord Berkeley, Admiral of the South & West was born on 5 January 1353 at Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire, England; Age 35 or 36 in 1389.[3]

He married Margaret Lisle, daughter of Sir Warin de Lisle, 2nd Lord Lisle, 5th Lord Tyeys and Margaret Pipard, in November 1367 at Wingrave, Buckinghamshire, England; They had 1 daughter (Elizabeth, wife of Sir Richard Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick, Lord Despenser & Lisle, Chamberlain of the Exchequer).[4]

Sir Thomas 'the Magnificent' Berkeley, 5th Lord Berkeley, Admiral of the South & West married Katherine Clinton, daughter of Sir John Clinton, 3rd Baron Clinton, Constable of Warwick Castle and Idonea de Say, after 20 March 1392; No issue.[5]

Sir Thomas 'the Magnificent' Berkeley, 5th Lord Berkeley, Admiral of the South & West Co-Regent in Henry V's absence at Agincourt. in 1415.

He left a will on 2 February 1416.[6]

He died on 13 July 1417 at age 64; Buried at Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire.2,4,11

His estate was probated on 23 July 1417.[7]
