On 9 Apr 1910 at the time of the 1910 US Census, head of household Axel Bern (age 40, born in Sweden) was employed as a Farmer on a General Farm and living in a Farmhouse he owned free of mortgage in Center, Nebraska with his wife Emily Bern (age 36, born in NE), daughter Mabel Bern (age 14, born in NE), and son Robert Bern (age 12, born in NE). Both Axel and Emily had been married for 16 years at the time of this 1910 census. Emily had given birth to two children, both of whom were still alive.
Both of Axel's parents were born in Sweden. Axel emigrated from Sweden to the USA in 1871.

On 4 Apr 1930 at the time of the 1930 US Census, head of household Axel Bern (age 60, born in Sweden) was employed as a Farmer on a Truck Farm and living in a home he owned in Center, Nebraska with his wife Emily Bern (age 57, born in NE), and widowed father John Bern (age 90, born in Sweden). Axel was first married at age 24; Emily was first married at age 21; John was first married at age 25. Both of Axel's parents were born in Sweden; both of Emily's parents were born in Sweden; both of John's parents were born in Sweden. Axel emigrated to the USA in 1871 and was a naturalized citizen. John emigrated to the USA in 1871 and was a naturalized citizen.

Death and Legacy
Axel died on 31 Oct 1941 at 72 years of age. Axel was buried at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo, Saunders County, Nebraska, USA. [6]
