Biography

Michel Bernard is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 1 Right. Listed with him is spouse, Marie Guilbeau, and their three sons Jean Baptiste, Francois and Michel.[1]

Michel Bernard was probably born about 1767,[2] shortly after his parents' arrival in Louisiana, New Spain.

Census: 1769 Attakapas, St. Martin, LA [3]

Marriage: Marguerite Broussard, daughter of Simon Broussard and Marguerite Blanchard, 10 June 1788 at St. Martinville.[4]
