I think you're on the right track here - in fact - the problem goes even further. The fathers of these duplicate versions of Jean Marie Bernard's (Bernard-2223 and Bernard-969) are in fact 2 of 3 profiles of what I think may also the same person Bernard-43 = Bernard-44 = Bernard-2414.

Looks like a bit of a mess to tidy up. I'm not the profile manager, but am willing to help out if you would like some help investigating / merging.
