Hi Julie,

Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information."

How Do You Find Sources? offers links to free sources (and a few for subscription). If you can't find a source, try asking about it at the G2G Forum.

Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.

After having your DNA tested the next thing you should do is to uploaded your Raw Data to www.gedmatch.com it is relatively easy to do and completely free. It is likely to result in a lot more matches with people who had other companies test their DNA. It is important to write done the kit number that Gedmatch gives you as you will need it it later, message me if you need help. The One to Many test will reveal your closest matches plus their email addresses.

Hello Julie,

Welcome to the WikiTree family!

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team! I hope you'll love it as much as I do!

The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started. When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history.

Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

Charlotte (Georgia, USA)

P.S. I'm happy to answer any questions!
