Ellen Mary (Berridge) Fuller (1861 - 1936)

Biography

Ellen was born in 1861^[1] in Warmington, Northamptonshire, England. She was the daughter of Benjamin Berridge and Sarah Peach; by 1871 the family lived in Ufford, Lincolnshire. Ellen's father was a farmer.^[2] By 1881 the family lived in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire.^[3]

At the time of the 1891 census Ellen worked as a barmaid in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.^[4]

She married William Reeves Fuller (whose wife had only recently died) in Essex in 1899.^[5] By 1901 William had retired from hotel-keeping (though he had formerly been a veterinary surgeon) and the family lived in Peterborough.^[6] William died later in 1901 at the age of 61.^[7]

In 1911 Ellen was the proprietor of the Royal Temperance Hotel on St Leonard's Street in Peterborough.^[8]

Ellen died in 1936 at the age of 74.^[9]
