Biography

Roger was born in 1926. Son of Milan J. Berry and Pauline Ruckert. After graduation from Mount Vernon High School, Frances attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield for two years, while Roger served in the US Navy. After their marriage, they developed a turkey farm near Mount Vernon. In 1961, they sold their breeding stock and moved to New York state. In 1966, Roger was an executive in Berry's Mobile Milling in Homer, New York and Frances worked as a floral designer for a local florist.

Roger Winston Berry, of Hanover, departed this life for Heavenly rest January 19, 2009.

He was the son of the late Milan J. and Pauline (Ruckert) Berry.

Mr. Berry was a 1944 graduate of Mount Vernon High School of Missouri. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1944-46.

He was a farmer for many years in Missouri and then retired from Pall Trinity Micro, Inc. in Cortland, N.Y. He was interested in woodworking, John Deere Tractors, and televised sporting events.

He was the husband of Frances L. (Jennings) Berry for 61 years and surviving, in addition to her, are a daughter, Barbara Meger and husband, Robert of Crofton, MD; a son, David L. Berry, of South Orange, NJ; two grandchildren, R. Andrew Meger and wife, Jennifer of Somerville, MA, and Sarah A. Meger of Chevy Chase, MD; a brother, Bryan L. Berry of Lewisburg; and a sister, Margaret L. Ehler of Annapolis, MD.

He was predeceased by a brother, Gilbert N. Berry. Roger was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Littlestown.

Inurnment was in Ozark Prairie Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
