Biography
Purchased approximately 40 acres of public land in Blount Co, AL in 1834. In Nov 1837 family moved to Republic of Texas and received a 640 acre land grant in San Augustine Co, TX. In 1844 Morgan moved again to the part of Houston Co that became Anderson Co and settled in the Providence community.

Entered Texas 20 Nov 1837 with father William Berry. Received a 3rd class land grant for 640 acres in San Augustine district (county) conditionally on Dec 26, 1839 from Republic of Texas. Unconditional land grant on Sep 21, 1841.

Morgan died in January 1863 without a will, and his wife Elizabeth M. Berry served as administrator of his estate.
