Nat married Elizabeth May Wass (born October 25, 1909 in Irishtown, Tasmania; daughter of Frederick John Wass (1842–1912) and Elizabeth Ann Barwick (1843–1922)). Their children were:

• Dulcie May Berry (1932–1985)
• Leonard Frederick Berry (1936–1994)
