Biography

Daniel Berry was born, probably at Machias, Maine, c1776, [1] the son of John Berry and Sarah Libby; [2] [3] died at Marshfield, Maine, 26 Mar 1860, aged about 84y. [3] He married (1) at Machias, 1 May 1802, his first cousin, once removed, Hannah Berry, [4] [3] born at Machias, Maine, 8 Jul 1783, the daughter of Jonathan Berry and Hannah Knight. [5] [3] She died before 1 Dec 1816, when Daniel married (2) at Machias, his third cousin, once removed, Keziah Foss, [6] [3] born, 31 Dec 1792, in that part of Machias later set off as Marshfield, the daughter of Joseph Foss and Ruth Fogg; [7] [3] probably died before 10 Aug 1850, when she was not enumerated with her husband in the 1850 US Census of East Machias, Maine. [1]

Daniel's father, John Berry Sr., was a Revolutionary War soldier. [8]
