Lewis Berry, a son of William and Agnes (Kitchin) Berry, was born December 12, 1794, probably in Frederick County, VA died April 26, 1867 in Braxton County, WV and is buried on Kanawha (District)*. [1][2][3]
He married Elizabeth "Betsy" Damute, born in VA in 1793 and died Jun 29 1853 in Braxton County, WV. Her burial place is unknown but may be in an unmarked grave in Falls Mill Cemetery (near Bulltown) with her husband. [4][5]
He was a soldier in the War of 1812[7]and served as a private in Co. G, 25th Infantry in the Confederate Army. Three of his sons served also: James was killed in the Shenandoah Valley, and brothers William D and Emery survived. [8]

The actual burial place is not known for Lewis Berry but says on the Kanawha.[9]
The source Hardesty's West Virginia Counties as cited requires that one page through the book to the pages. Braxton County begins on page 60. Each reference given states the page number to look for.
Their daughter, Sarah Ann appears only on this 1850 census and is not in the 1870 census record or West Virginia Vital Statistics records.
