Biography

Samuel Berry was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.
Mr. Tom Berry, 68, of 609 North Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, a retired farmer of the Shiloh Community of Taylor County and son of the late Henry H. and Rosy Workman Berry, was born in Green County, July 17, 1899. He died at the Rosary Hospital in Campbellsville Monday, June 3rd shortly after being admitted. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Sand Lick Separate Baptist Church. Mr. Berry was married to Mary W. Stearman, August 25, 1923. Besides his wife, he is also survived by three brothers and four sisters: R. C., Otis and Earl Berry, Mrs. Lottie Cull, Mrs. Bessie Barnes, all of Louisville; Mrs. Mit Stearman of Campbellsville, Star Route; and Mrs. Elmer Richardson, all of Campbellsville. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 4th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. The Rev. L. M. Hamilton officiated. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmie Richerson, Jackie Stearman, Junior Cull, Eldon Benningfield, and Barbee Skaggs.
