Grandpa loved cereal or at least the toys that came in the box back then. He had a magic ball. It had a string attached to it. So when he would get in the floor to play with us he’d pull out that ball. He would say catch! Then throw the ball and as you tried to catch the ball he would pull the string and it went back to him. Everyone loved the ball and all the tricks he could do with it. One day we were playing and the string broke. The ball flew across the room and landed into the spit tune send the contents flying. After that we could only play ball on the porch.
Grandpa had an old model T in the garage that had to be hand cranked. When I was about 10 around 1970 he got a new car a Ford Nash Rambler. He said he couldn’t crank the car anymore so he got one that worked on a key.
Grandpa would take us in the feild some times and dig up some peanuts so grandma could bake them for us as a snack.
