Biography

Inez (Berryhill) Adams was a centenarian, living to age 102.

James Inez Ann Berryhill was born on June 8, 1891 to parents James Berryhill and Inez Ann Thomas.^[1] She was baptized on September 6, 1891 at New Hope Presbyterian Church in McKenzie, Carroll, Tennessee.^[1]

Her name is a combination of both her parents names. 'James' as a female name is unusual, but in this instance not a mistake.

Growing up, she lived in the household of her paternal aunt, with her father and sister.^[2]

She married Wiley Adams on June 20, 1917 in Hamilton County, Tennessee.^[3] The couple settled in Murfreesboro, Rutherford, Tennessee by 1920.^[4] Together, they had a number of children.

The couple stayed in Murfreesboro and raised their family there.^[5][6]

At some point, Inez moved to California, possibly to live with one of her sons. She passed away on July 24, 1993 in Contra Costa, California.^[7] Inez is buried in New Hope Presbyerian Church Cemetery in McKenzie, Carroll, Tennessee.^[8]
