Eraste was born in 1879. He was the son of Homer Bertrand and Celida Durio. [1]

He married Minnie Marotte on 2 December 1846 in Opelousas, Louisiana. [1]

He married Bertha Bertrand in 1902. [2]

He passed away in 1947 [3] and was buried in the Sacred Heart Prairie Ronde Cemetery in Prairie Ronde, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. [4]
