Biography

Joseph Berube was born in St. Arsene, Canada East in 1855. He was the son of John Berube and Mathilde Bouchard. He moved to Oscoda, Michigan with his parents in 1870s. He married Marie Vitaline Masse. He passed away in 1939.

Joseph Berube, 83, long time resident of Munising, passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. Alice Scholtes, Thursday night after an illness of about three weeks. Mr. Berube had been a resident of this community for the past 37 years, coming to Grand Marais from Oscoda 45 years ago. ^[1]
