Biography

Dardanella was born on 10 Jul 1915 ^[1] in Wairoa, NZ to Albert William Henry Besant and Mako Taawhi. ^[2]

She married Clarence O'Connor, a butcher from Hastings aged 19, on 25 Jun 1935 at the Roman Catholic Church in Hastings, NZ by J Stewart in the presence of Olive Besant, a shop assistant from Wairoa and Owen Mervin O'Connor, a mill hand from Hastings ^[2] ^[3] ^[4]

Dardenella married John Wilson. ^[3]

Dardanella passed away at home from Bronchopneumonia on 16 Jun 1981 in Birkdale, NZ. ^[5] Dr. Warren Max Paykel was the certifying Medical Attendant, who had last seen her on 9 Jun 1981. She was cremated on the 18 Jun 1981 at Purewa Cemetery and Crematorium in Auckland, NZ. ^[3]
