We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
Thank you for the questions about Richard King https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/King-11039. I sent you a private email also regarding his life, and the research. I do not recall seeing Mr. Johnson in the sources. You are also welcome to browse the sources to see if you find him. .
Thanks for your interest in Texas Ranchers and Richard King. .

Thanks again for signing the Honor Code some time ago. I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions?
I see you have not created a profile yet from your Gedcom. Will you do it via the gedcompare or proceed with manual creations?

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
The Gedcom shows many suggestions, the same will show up when you create profiles manually. The advantage of doing it manually is that you have less clean up to do and that you can take care easier of all your references to the sources.
Hope this helps, Michel
Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment. Alternatively, click my name to visit my profile. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
Have fun

I'm assuming that the suggestions for your children etc. were invalid suggestions. If so, it's fine that you rejected them. Basically you have to go through the whole file, accepting or rejecting the suggestions for every person. I hope that your file is not very big!!
When you have done that for every person an "Add" button will appear for all the ones where you have a person in your GEDCOM file but there is no corresponding person in the WikiTree tree. Then you can add each of these unmatched people into WikiTree from your GEDCOM file, by pressing the "Add" button. It will create the profile for you automatically. However, you still need to look at each new profile and review the biography and the details of the profile as the GEDCOMPARE process is not perfect.
You are welcome to correspond with me by e-mail, by sending me a private message. Then I can send you some screenshots from my own GEDCOM file, if that would be helpful.
I am in a different time zone to you - I live in the UK so there may be a delay in getting my response.
Best wishes
Maureen ~ WikiTree Greeter
Stay safe and thanks again,

Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I am here to answer any question you have about WikiTree. To contact me, please log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page.
