YZ Bess age 81, of Florala passed away on September 16, 2014. He was born February 16, 1933 in Andalusia to Aston Bess and Etta Johnson Bess. YZ worked at Franklin Ferguson Industries in Florala as a supervisor for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing , going to the beach, and doing mechanical work on cars and trucks. Nothing was more important to Y Z as his family. He loved spending time with his wife, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved being 'GrandPa YZ". His faith in Jesus Christ sustained him and his family as he bravely fought many health issues. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. He was preceded in death by sons, Danny Franklin and Keith Steward; granddaughter, Chasity Franklin; father Aston Bess; mother Etta Johnson Bess.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bobbie Schofield Bess of Florala, son, Terry Franklin and wife Debbie of Florala, grandchildren, Tara Hadley and Amanda Franklin, great grandchildren, Kyle and Laken Hadley, Halley Williams, Bryson and Brittnay Wise and Emily and Elyse Stevens.

Funeral services for YZ Bess will be 11AM Thursday September 18, 2014 from Evans Funeral Home with Ray Bundy and Milford Adams officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Wednesday. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
