Harrison was born in Bullitt County, Kentucky in 1815 and came to Indiana with his parents about 1828-1829. His wife Sara was born in Kentucky in 1815 and the two were married in 1833 in Clark County, Indiana. They farmed in Johnson County and Tipton County.

His wife Sara died sometime before 1868 and I don't know when Harrison died. They are both buried in Jesse Jackson Cemetery in Sharpsville, Indiana.
Children
William Bess and Lebert (Levi) Bess enlisted together in the Civil War. William survived, Lebert was killed at Chickamauga TN 1863.
