Biography

Jane Besse
Birth: 1647, Sandwich, Barnstable, Plymouth
Death: Date Unknown
Vol 26, #4, The American Genealogist, pg 193-4. Oct 1950
[Plymouth Colony Wills, see The Mayflower Descendant, 14:152] names daughters DORCAS, ANN, MARY, JANE and ELIZABETH, and sons NEHEMIAH and DAVID. (more data in this article) Jane b. about 1647; mentioned in father's will, 1656/7, no further record.[1]
On 3 June 1662, "concerning a cow belonging to Jane, the daughter of Anthony Bessey, of Sandwich, the Court have ordered G[e]orge Barlow, in whose hands the said cow hath been for some time, to return her to the overseers of the estate of the said Anthony Bessey, to be disposed of by them for the use and good of the said Jane Bessey" [PCR 4:17]; no further record.[2]
A previous version of this profile attached her as daughter to Anthony Annable but there is no evidence to support he had a daughter Jane.
An online tree at Ancestry.com claims she was daughter of Anthony Besse and wife Jane. A merge has been proposed with an existing profile for that daughter.

Besse-108 and Besse-14 appear to represent the same person because: Per the narrative of Besse-108, she was a daughter of Anthony Besse (Bessey-8 on wikitree); he has a profiled daughter by that name with a much later birth date; please use that date (abt 1647). Otherwise, there is no evidence that a Jane Besse b abt 1622 existed, so let's merge her away. Thanks.

I've detached her as child of Anthony Annable-3 as there is no documentation to support he had such a daughter.

If she was a child of Anthony Annable her last name at birth should be changed to "Annable"
