Biography

Joseph was born on 1 March 1778, and was baptized two days later in Pointe-Olivier. He was the son of Joseph Besset and Marie Françoise Bariere.[1] He married Marie Josephte Cir on 7 October 1799 in Pointe-Olivier.[2] Later widowed, he married Angelique George on 8 August 1803 in Pointe-Olivier.[3] Widowed a second time, he married Marguerite Frechet on 28 September 1846 in Sainte-Marie.[4]

When Joseph Dumas Bessette was born on March 1, 1778, in Quebec, Canada, his father, Joseph-Francois, was 24 and his mother, Marie-Francoise Barriere, was 20. He married Marie-Josette Cyr on October 7, 1799. He then married Angelique St. Georges and they had thirteen children together. He died on November 1, 1851, at the age of 73, and was buried in Chambly, Quebec, Canada.
