- William Bessey, 94, formerly of Marcellus, died Nov. 22 in Lompoc, Calif., after a long illness.
A native of Marcellus, he lived in California since 1963. He retired in 1967 as a movie projectionist, having worked for Empire and Eckel movie theaters in Syracuse for 40 years and at Disneyland for three years. He also worked as a chemist at Solvay Process. Mr. Bessey was a member of Local 376 Movie Projectionists Union and AFL-CIO. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Norris Funeral Home. Burial is in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. A calling hour is noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus. Syracuse Herald American (NY) - December 7, 1997
