Biography

John was born in 1797 in Upper Canada (Ontario).

During the War of 1812, he served as a private in the 1st Regiment of Lincoln Militia. In 1820, he was a yeoman in Grantham Township, Upper Canada.[1]

He passed away in 1885[2] and was buried at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines.[3]

Suggest that Birth Date be changed to 28 Apr 1885 as confirmed by "Ontario Deaths, 1869-1937 and Overseas Deaths, 1939-1947" (link above). Both original and transcription clearly say 28.
