Thomas, child of Thomas Scrase Best and Grace Holroyd Best, was born on 8 February 1862 and baptised on 22 February 1862 in Wortley, St John the Evangelist, Yorkshire, England.^[1] He is the son of Thomas Best and Grace Hardwick.
