At the time of the 1891 Canada Census, John L., Mary C, Robard A J, and Rodrick O. Bethune were listed as living in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, along with John's brother Dan J Bethune^[2].

1901 Census Victoria County, lists him (Doctor) as 51 and wife as 35 ^[3]

Burial

Bethune is buried along with his wife, Mary, in Greenwood Cemetery in Baddeck. ^[5]
