William Bettis married Sarah Patterson in Franklin Co NC had land near Drury Patterson in Granville, NC. Wyatt, his brother sold the land of their father James Bettis in Franklin, NC and migrated to Washington Co., Georgia about 1798 and then to Wilson Co. Tennessee about 1804. William and his sons, Tillman, John and James with Thomas and Drury Patterson migrated to Shelby Tennessee by 1820.
Thomas Patterson married Mary Harpole in 1812 Wilson Co Tennessee, Wyatt Bettis served as Bondsman. Thomas was the son of Drury Patterson and was brother to William's wife Sarah Patterson and their brother Tillman Patterson of Franklin Co. NC and wife Matila Young.
