Biography

This profile is part of the Betts Name Study.

Thomas Betts was born about 1777 according existing census records. He was the son of Nathan Betts (1755-1833) and Azubah (Abbott) Betts (abt.1755-).[1] He was living in Brunswick, Rensselaer, New York in 1840. In his household was a woman, aged between 60 and 69 who was probably his wife [name unknown]; two sons and two daughters.[2] He continued to live there until at least the time of the 1860 United States census.[3][4][5]

Marriage

No record of a marriage has been found, but Charles Wyllys Betts names her as Catharine Wheeler in his Thomas Betts of Guilford and Norwalk.[1]
