Paul Bevan was born in Wales.

Paul was born in 1783 in Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales the son of Sylvanus Bevan and Mary Fox.[1]

Marriage One He married Rebecca Capper. They had the folllowing children:

His first wife Rebecca sadly passed away in 1817.

Marriage Two - 1831

Paul married, secondly, Judith Dillwyn (daughter of William and Sarah Dillwyn) on 12 May 1831 at Tottenham, Middlesex, England.[2]

He passed away in 1868 at the age of 84.[3]

According to Davies[5]that the Bull was the Arms of the Family of Bevan, originally “ Ap-Evan ” of Oxwich Castle, and that these Arms were ermine, a Bull passant gules between three annulets of the same, two in chief, one in base.”


Research Notes

Silvanus Bevan, the elder son of Paul Bevan, of Swansea, had a son, also named Paul (1783—1863), who married Rebecca Capper. Their son William (1812—1876) married Sofia Read, by whom he had five children, the late Paul Bevan, Mary Crewdson, Antonia Williams, Constance Topham and Elsie Blomfield[6] Therefore:

Pauls father is Silvanus Bevan Pauls grandfather is Paul Bevan also Pauls son William marries Sofia Read and they had five chidren (the late Paul Bevan, Mary Crewdson, Antonia Williams, Constance Topham and Elsie Blomfield)
