Research Notes
NOTE REGARDING SURNAME: The surname is most commonly found as Beveridge in Scotland. When Robert Beveridge moved from Perth, Scotland to London his name was then spelled Belfrage (and similar) presumably due to pronunciation. Robert's son Hugh Beveridge's surname was Belfrage while serving in the British Army, but reverted to Beveridge when he came to America, although some of his siblings retained the surname of Belfrage in America. Robert's surname was recorded as Belfrage on his death record.
Marriage location: one source has Tibermore, Perthshire[7] and another has Perth, Perthshire[8] both with same date.
