Biography

Eliza C. Beverly was born at Whiting, Maine, 20 Jul 1821, the daughter of Farnum Beverly and Mary "Polly" Chase; ^[1] died of capillary bronchitis at East Machias, Maine, 6 Jul 1901, aged "81"y 11m 16d. ^[2]

She married (1) at Machias, Maine, c1840, Aaron Ramsdell; ^{[3] [4]} divorced before 28 Jun 1859, when she married (2) at East Machias, John K. Parsons. ^{[4] [5] [6]}

Lived at Marion Township ^[7] and East Machias, ^{[8] [9] [10] [11]} Maine.

Research Notes

Eliza Beverly reportedly married (2) at East Machias, Maine, 10 Oct 1852, Simeon Dowling, ^[12] but the only corroborating evidence that has been found to date is an entry in The History of Whiting, p. 68, ^[13] The evidence to the contrary is that a Maria Ramsdell, age 4, presumably a daughter by her first husband, was enumerated with her in the household of her second husband, Jon K. Parsons, in the 1860 census. ^[8]
