Symon Beverton was a cloth maker, specifically a shearman (skilled worker who sheared the nap from cloth), according to two records in the Roll of the Freemen of the City of Canterbury:[1]
-1634 Roll mentions his son Simon is a clothworker and notes Simon snr was a shearman.
-1642 Roll records his daughter Deborah’s marriage to the vinter, Henry Everet, and lists Symon's occupation was a clothworker
Symon seems to have been married 3 times, according to two death records and one marriage record. He had ten children:
first marriage: Marye Beverton, who was the wife of Symon Beverton and was buried 2 Jul 1599 at All Saints Church, Canterbury [2]

second marriage: Hester Beverton, who was the wife of Symon Beverton and was buried 30 Oct 1602 at All Saints Church, Canterbury [4]

A 1629 marriage application for John Alchorn of Faversham, Kent, bachelor, 23, to Anne Beverton, of St Catherine Cree Church, spinster 23, mentions she is the daughter of Simon Beverton citizen, and cloth worker, and that he is deceased.[13]
There is a record for Symon Beverton burial on 20 April 1624 at Canterbury All Saints Parish, Kent, England [14]
Notes
One of his descendants, Squier/Squire Beverton (possibly named after Mary Squire's surname) became the Mayor of Canterbury in 1659, and his son or grandson, also Squier Beverton, became Mayor in 1683 and 1697.[15]
